FAQs
- How do I clean the vitroceramic plates?
The Vitroceramic grill surfaces should be wiped with a damp sponge or plastic scrubby and a solution of soap and water at the end of the day. The grills should NEVER be submerged in water. A grill razor scraper can be used occasionally to remove any further buildup of food residue on the grill surface. - Can I use metal utensils?
No, because they will scratch the glass and if left on the glass with the lid is closed, the glass could break. - How long does the unit take to preheat?
Anywhere between 10-15 minutes, depending on the voltage and desired temperature. Generally, 120v units take slightly longer than 208/240v models. - Is it ok to leave the panini grills on all day, even when there is a slow period?
Yes. Just leave the lid(s) closed when not in use. The unit will only activate when the temperature drops below the set temperature. In addition, since these units preheat time is minimal you can turn it on and off as needed. - Can you use foil?
No, because infrared heating elements will reflect the rays back into the unit, instead of into the food, causing the unit to overheat and shut down. You can use parchment paper.
